Dont Wait! Start Your New Years Resolutions Right Now

Dont Wait! Start Your New Years Resolutions Right Now Dont Wait! Start Your New Years Resolutions Right Now Dont Wait! Start Your New Years Resolutions Right NowInstead of living it up through the holidays and then dragging yourself to the gym come January 1st, you should just start making better choices right now.If you’re one of the rare people who are actually able to keep their New Year’s resolutions, then kudos. For real. If Forbes were to publish a 30-under-30-style list of all the folks who are able to pull this task off, the general public would be much more impressed than they are by the people who appear on the actual 30-under-30.For the rest of us, keeping our New Year’s resolutions requires all the help we can possibly get. And some of that help is going to require thinking way outside the box. For instance, what if we told you that a great way to help you keep your New Year’s resolutions involved … ignoring the New Year’s part altogether? Stop trying to make New Year’s happen.Sure, it makes sense why the new year is the time that people try to turn over a new lea f. There’s a symbolic weight to the idea of a brand new year also bringing with it the start of a brand new you.On the other hand … nah.“New Year’s is actually the worst time to start a change,” said  Registered Dietitian and Body Balance Strategist Dina Merhbi. “Body exhaustion from the holidays, decreased funds because of presents, cold weather that makes exercise unappealing (if in the northern hemisphere). And it is shown that 99 percent of people will get off the resolution wagon within three weeks of starting.”Why should you wait until January 1st to get going on that great new you? When people say there’s no time like the present, this is exactly the kind of thing they’re talking about.“Making a change is about making a choice now and not waiting for a better time. Seeing this change as a lifestyle upgrade and not a temporary upgrade, decreases the anxiety and helps accomplish goals with confidence.”Instead of making New Year’s Resolutions and then wai ting around to start them, make those changes right now. That way, once the big ball drops, you’ll already have a month’s head start on everyone else. That pressure all your friends and family members will be feeling to maintain their resolutions? It won’t bother you one bit.Not only that, but there are other benefits to starting your New Year’s resolutions early as well.Avoid the holiday mega-binge.So, Netflix has got this movie up right now called The Christmas Chronicles in which Santa is played by a trim, muscular Kurt Russell. This is an outrage. Santa has to have that tummy that jiggles like a bowl full of jelly, if only because it serves as a warning to the rest of us about the cost of holiday over-indulging. The holiday mega-binge is real, and starting your resolutions now will help you avoid it.“Waiting until January 1st to start eating better and moving more may be the worst choice we make around our health and fitness,” said Health Coach and author of The Elep hant in the Gym Gillian Goerzen. ‘Why? Because that arbitrary resolution deadline so often results in utter chaos between now and then. You eat all the sweets and treats. You ‘get lazy’ because ’you’ll start back in January.’”“But what would your health look like if you just did what you can now?” she asks. And it’s a good question. Binging through the holidays isn’t going to leave you feeling more prepared for the personal challenges ahead. If anything, it’ll be the exact opposite!“Sure, you may not be able to do exactly what you’d like, but every great choice you make towards your health is a great choice. That serving of veggies you had? Serves your body! That quick walk around the block before dinner? Serves your body! Being mindful of your servings (while still enjoying your fave holiday treats)? Serves your body!”Goerzen also warns against the dangers of New Year’s-centric procrastination:“Just consider that waiting further reinforces the habi ts you don’t want to keep. If you’ve been over-indulging and not moving regularly, those are health habits too (just maybe not the ones you want)â€"and breaking free of those and developing new and different habits is that much harder the longer you wait.”So what’s her’s advice? Well, if you’ve made it this far into the post and can’t guess what it is, then let Goerzen make it crystal clear:“Start now. Do what you can. Drink that glass of water. Eat that serving of veggies. Take that 10-minute walk on your lunch break. Practice one minute of mindful breathing every day. And … give yourself wiggle room to be human. Enjoy the holidays. Savor your favorite treats. Embrace the beauty of the season and skip the New Year’s Resolution entirely this year!”Easy does it.Anyone who’s tried to quit smoking cold turkey or even gone straight from holiday excess to a strict new diet can tell you: Making big abrupt changes is extremely difficult. Starting now will give you t he chance to ramp up your personal reformsâ€"and lower the risk that you’ll crash hard and fall of the wagon.“There is so much pressure to do the right things all at once in our goals on the first day of the year,” said author and nutrition educator KJ Landis. “If we make a list and attempt to ease into our changes little by little, it takes the pressure off.”Even if starting at the beginning of December is too big an ask for you, starting only a week before your New Year’s deadline could bring untold benefits.“For example,” offered Landis, “if I want to take a new semester of classes at the local college, I can take my time during the week before New Year’s and read up on the subject matter I will be studying. I can prepare by reading the syllabus and reading about the professor’s style of teaching and his or her reputation. She offered another example as well: “If I want to eat healthy as my New Year’s resolution, I can begin the week before and have a hab it already set in place. This also helps with refraining from overindulgence on New Year’s Eve.”Beat the New Year’s rush.If your New Year’s resolution involves exercising  more, then we have some bad news. Come January 1st, your local gym is going to be a total zoo. And while it’s great that lots of people will be doing their best to live a healthier lifestyle, that environment won’t be the most conducive to success, especially if you’re a newbie. As RightFit Personal Training  CEO Matthew Kornblatt put it:One main reason to start your fitness resolutions before New Years Youll beat the rush! The gym during the first week of January is an absolute madhouse, so why not get into a routine a few weeks before? When most others will be taking time off from exercise during the holidays, you will have more than enough space for yourself at the gym.“Getting a head start on fitness before New Years will help you create and maintain healthy habits without the unnecessary distr action of fighting for equipment, or having to whip down someone elses sweaty bench.”And while we always preach thriftiness on this blog, people with some expendable income on hand might do well to get some expert help:“If you feel sluggish about getting started now, you might want to consider hiring a personal trainer,” said Kornblatt. “A certified fitness professional will give you the push you need, and will help put you on a path towards living a healthy lifestyle.”Resolve together, fail apart. No matter when you start your resolutions, you’re going to encounter obstacles. Some of them will be moments of pure temptation, but many others will arise from the difficulty of building up new and improved habits. Either way, one surefire method to help combat these obstacles is to enlist your friends, family, and coworkers in the effort. From networking expert and author of Build Your Dream Network, J. Kelly Hoey:“No one ever goes it alone. All of us reach and achieve our g oals with the help of others. New Years Resolutions should be no different. To improve your success in keeping your goals in 2019, start early and start by connecting each goal to a person or community.“For example, one of the top New Years Resolutions is to stay fit and healthy (followed closely by losing weight and spending less/saving more). Are there friends or work colleagues who have the same goals? What about switching a weekly lunch learn around a boardroom table to a power walk talk instead? Think about organizing a healthy potluck dinner with friends instead of a calorie-filled (and expensive) evening out.”“Slip a note in the holiday card you send out, sharing your ideas and challenging those friends to join in achieving your New Years Resolutions. The best part is not only will you greatly improve the odds of keeping your resolutions, youll strengthen your personal relationships too.”Making New Year’s Resolutions is easy. It’s keeping those resolutions thatâ €™s hard. But by getting a head start in December, setting achievable early goals, and building a support network, the odds of your success will rise dramatically. Nelson Mandela Spiritual Biography - 2263 Words

Runaway, Terrorist, Prisoner, Student, President, South African, Free Nelson Mandela challenged the status quo in many ways weather it was done politically, socially, or personally, in order to achieve such high goals Mandela paid many great personal expenses. Before the acts of Nelson Mandela, the country of South Africa was broken; it was plunged in a deep racism with the election in 1948. The Foundations Of Rationalism By Plato - 1762 Words

Faith, like prejudice, is an enemy of reason, yet if the power of reason to enquire important answers to fundamental questions has been demonstrated in the western tradition since Plato, faith, which remains today a prominent global force manifested in religion, too, holds a function in logical enquiry. Faith is to hold a conviction void of actual evidence, yet Reason needs faith in order to function, it is faith that is linked to the imagination and hypothesis for enquiry. Humans are not machines, which can function on reason alone, and thus, to eradicate faith would be to eradicate a evolutionary flaw in the human makeup. Faith, akin to love in this way, makes individuals happy. In Plato’s dialogues, the foundations of rationalism are†¦show more content†¦Plato’s dualism is articulated Plato’s Republic (trans Lee 1974 IV,436a-442d) to account for inner conflicts in decision making. An individual can be thirsty yet not quench his thirst (Republic, 437b) , and â€Å"anger at times goes to war with desire, as if they were two distinct things†(Republic, 440a-b). Reason is like the driver of a chariot, steering the two horses of spirit and desire in the correct direction. The chariot is able to function as â€Å"the one ruling principle of reason, and the two subject ones of spirit and desire are equally agreed that reason ought to rule† (Republic, 442c). Such a struggle articulates the struggle that Dawkins un-impartially describes, between faith and reason, where reason ought to be the driving force. Aristotle states that man is distinct from animals as he has the capacity to reason as a â€Å"rational animal† (Marc 2014, web). For Aristotle, the goal of science is to know why things necessarily are as they are (Shields 2014, 129). Dawkins’ statement infers this goal is hindered through faith, â€Å"one of the world’s greatest evils†. In Plato’s dialogue Memo, Socrates refers to the theory of the forms, where people have eternal immortal souls, the world is particulars of pure forms. The theory of the forms expresses the power of reason (81d), as feeling like something pure, perfect, and other worldly. Socrates demonstrates to Memo that, by asking a

Management Issues In The Singapore Airline †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Management Issues In The Singapore Airline. Answer: Introduction Singapore Airlines was established in January 1947. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the government. It also offers services like air transportation, in-flight services, and ground services. In 1947 the company started with twin-engine Airspeed consul under the airways of Malaysia. In 1972 the company established two entities like Malaysian airline system and Singapore airlines. Singapore Airlines has also suffered from many changes in itsmanagement and services. So, the issues that are identified in the Singapore airlines are communication and motivation. These issues should be resolved as it affects the performance of the company (Zentner, 2016). Communication One of the management issues in the Singapore airline is related to communication. Communication plays a great role in conducting the overall activities of the organization in a smooth way. If there is no proper communication in the organization then it can be difficult to survive in the competitive environment. Communication is important for the organization as it helps in managing the performance of the company (Karatepe and Vatankhah, 2014). It is analyzed that Singapore Airline faces the issue of communication. There is no proper communication process in the organization. Due to this, there are many incidents of flight clashes that took place (Bok, 2015). Miscommunication can create a great problem for the organization. Communication Channel Communication channel is related with the flow of information within the organization. It is seen that in Singapore airline there is no proper channel of communication. The flow of information does not take place in a proper manner. The information that is given by the managers is not conveyed to every employee of the organization. For instance: It is seen that the pilots who are in the night shift face problem to communicate with the employees as managers are not available on their positions. If employee wants to give their feedback then it can create difficulty for them to raise their voice as there is no proper hierarchy in the organization. This give impact on the satisfaction level of the employees and also it is seen that it is difficult to retain the employees. For example: there is huge number of people who left the company just because of the communication barrier they face at the time of conducting the activities of the organization. So, as the employees left the impact is also seen on the performance. There are fewer employees to assist the customers to solve the query and to book tickets. Duplication of work The activities that are conducted by the employees of the organization are not clear and sometimes duplication of work takes place. This happens just because of the ineffective communication process of the organization. For instance if the employee is given a task to call the customers and tell them about the offers. So, if proper meeting is not conducted then employee can call the same customer twice . The workload of the employees increases due to the in proper communication (Kimes and Wirtz, 2015). The employees conduct the same activities twice that consumes both time and productivity of the employees. Then it is seen that impact is seen on the overall sales and profits of the organization. Different Background The company has also appointed the people of different backgrounds so it creates a great issue for the employees to communicate with each other. The communication process is slowed down in the organization. The satisfaction level of the employees is reduced because of ineffective communication in the organization (Pang, 2016). For instance : There are two departments in the organziation and from the booking department one person ask for the information of a particlar customer and the employee of other department do not understand then it can lead to confusion and the employees will not be able to achieve goals and objectives. Also confusion takes place just because of the different language of the people. So, the company should set one language to be used in the organziation so that confusion can be reduced and efficiency can be achieved in effective manner. Impact due to internal miscommunication Also, there was one incident that took place on October 31, 2000. The airplane was scheduled to take off from Singapore to Los Angeles via Taipei. Flight 006 was moving slowly to its takeoff point and the climate condition was also not good. The visibility was not clear and crewmembers landed the plane on Boeing runway which was closed for repairing. So, this accident took place due to the miscommunication. The report was few months ago published and was not given to the pilot. As the result, the takeoff process was on the wrong runway. When the pilot tries to take off the flight the aircraft collided with heavy equipment and broke apart. Many passengers who are seated in the middle of the plane were killed when the fuel in the wings exploded. Total 83 passengers died out of 179 on board including four crewmembers (Lim, 2017). This accident has given negative impact on the image of the company. The customers think twice before booking their seats in the Singapore airlines (Zhang et al., 2016). It is seen that if proper communication is not there in the organization then it can create difficulty to manage the activities of the organization. This issue is a major issue in Singapore airline. So, by analyzing all these incidents that took place in the organization it is seen that the company should focus on managing communication channel so that the activities of the organization can be conducted smoothly. If communication process is improved in Singapore airline then it can be easy for the company to compete in the competitive environment (Heracleous and Wirtz, 2014). Without effective communication, it can be difficult for the company to enhance the overall profitability and productivity of the organization. Motivation Next issue that is seen in the organization is related to motivation. Motivation refers to the encouragement by various means that enhances the overall performance of the employee in an organization. Motivation is an essential part of every organization as it helps to achieve success in the market. It is seen that motivated workers are more productive than the demotivated one. Motivation at work is essential offering services so that effective and integrated approach can be made for enhancing the satisfaction level of the customers. In Singapore airline, it is evaluated that the workers are not dedicated towards the work assigned to them. So, due to this negative impact is given to the customers. The customers are not happy and satisfied with the services offered by the company. There are many reviews in which customers are complaining about the delay in the information and inadequate services. This is just because of lack of motivation of the employees (Lohmann and Spasojevic, 2018).The employees who are conducting their routine activities are not motivated and efficient towards their work. There are many complains of the customers related to cleanliness and delay in the flights. It is seen that it is important for the company to maintain good relationships with the customer. But due to the inefficiency of the employees, the satisfaction level of the employees is not enhanced (De Neufville, 2016). The complaint of the customers is also related to the taste of food offered to the customers at the time of their journey. Lack of motivation in the employees of Singapore airline has affected the quality of the services and also the overall profitability of the organization. Due to lack of motivation in employees, the number of absentees is also enhanced. When a number of absentees enhance then the direct impact is seen on the activities of the organization (Wirtz and Heracleous, 2016). It is important for the organization to maintain proper services and working pattern so that employees can conduct the activities with efficiency. Motivation level of the employees is important to be enhanced so that the activities can be conducted in a right direction. Motivated employees help the company to enhance the image and also the level of productivity. Efficiency and dedication of the employees are also enhanced if motivation techniques are considered by the company. In Singapore airline, the employees are not dedicated towards the work which creates a major issue for the company to attract more and more customers. The motivation of the employee depends upon four components work environment, pay and benefit and organizational vision. These components are also the major factor that helps in satisfying the customers of the airline industry. Singapore Airlines failed to develop motivational programs for its workers who resort them to undergo strikes and lockout. Employees in the organization are not willing to perform with dedication because many times their basic needs are not satisfied that stops them to develop their high level wants like self-esteem and actualization. Cabin crews are considered as the backbone of the airline industry. It is seen that in Singapore airline the performance declines just because of long flying hours and it directly impacts the relationship of the customers. It is the inability of the company to consider the issues and motivate them to enhance their productivity. Singapore airline offices do not have proper feedback mechanism and sessions related to hearing the problems of the employees. Hence the department of human resource is not able to trace and evaluate the factors of motivation which will help the employees to give their best. So, it is seen that there is a gap between topmanagement and it is reflected in the attitude of the employees at the time of dealing with the customers. The demand of the employees like an increase in wages, revision of pay packages also led to unproductive work (Holloway, 2017). The pilots of the company refused to conduct the activities because the wages given to cabin crew members are low. Singapore airline cut the salary of the employees just because of the crisis that took place. So, this factor demotivates the employees and their productivity level reduce. By anlayzing the issue of motivation in the Singapore Airline it is anlayzed that Maslow hierarchy of needs theory should be taken into consideration so that motivation can be enhnaced. There are five steps in this theory Biological and physiological needs, safety needs, Love and belongingness needs, esteem needs and self-actualization needs. It is important for the company to offer basic needs like water, food and holidays so that employees can be energized and conduct the activities with efficiency. Wages should also be according to the experience and overall performance of the employees. Singapore airline should also offer job security to its employees so that they can give their best towards the activities. It is also important that there should be love and affection between the employees so that they can conduct the activities with proper teamwork. Esteem needs should also be considered as it helps to create respect for others. The employees should be promoted according to the p erformance. Singapore airlines should make realize the potential and capability of the individual possessed so that work can be conduct with efficiency. It is important for the Singapore airline to enhance their wages according to the qualification and position of the employee so that the motivation level can be enhanced effectively. Issue related to Motivation has given impact on the productivity and on the image of the company. So if these issues are addressed then the service level of Singapore airline can be at par and also the satisfaction level can be enhanced effectively. Motivation brings happiness and if employees of the organization are motivated then it can give impact on the overall productivity and profitability level of the company Conclusion By evaluating the report, it is seen that the management issues related to Singapore airline are communication and motivation. Both the issues should be resolved in a proper manner so that the activities can be conducted smoothly. Communication issue should be resolved by taking into consideration proper communication channel so that duplication and conflict can be minimized in the organization. In the next phase of the report, the issue related to motivation is discussed in which Singapore airlines should focus on enhancing the level of motivation by offering wages according to their qualification. If the employee is motivated then it can be easy for the company to enhance overall profitability and productivity in a proper manner. References Asif, M., 2015.
